MediaTek has fixed the first three vulnerabilities in its processors

MediaTek has fixed three previously discovered vulnerabilities in its processors. For the latter, which increases user privileges in the system, protection will appear in December, on November 25 Izvestia learned.

The Taiwanese vendor has rated the vulnerabilities CVE-2021-0661, CVE-2021-0662, CVE-2021-0663 as medium-level threats. According to experts, one cannot be sure that manufacturers using MediaTek processors in gadgets have promptly integrated protection into their firmware.

In the Russian office of the Orro company, they did not give an unambiguous answer to the questions about the integration of protection against the discovered vulnerabilities, but noted the monitoring of the development of events.

“We operate in more than 50 countries and regions of the world and value the privacy and security of our users’ data. The collection of user data, as well as data protection and information security, are in accordance with the laws of each country where we are present ”, – said the vendor’s representative.

As noted “Gazeta.RuCheck Point Research discovered several vulnerabilities in MediaTek chips used in smartphones. The flaws allowed hackers to listen to calls from the owner of the gadget.
